New Loralie Spicy Cats fabrics

Many new fabrics just arrived at the end of this month. We received a new very cute coffee panel and coordinates. We received several new Moda batiks. Quilting Treasures just sent us the newest Loralie Designs Spicy Cats fabric line. This picture is the very adorable panel with two of the coordinates. We just fell in love with these felines! We have uploaded images of this fabric into our shopping cart and it is available for you to buy online.

To the website online store–we added a new Moda ”neutral” fabric collection, a very cute Lakehouse Pam Kitty fabric line, the remaining Quilt Across Texas fabric line, and some blue bonnet fabrics. We are trying very hard to get more of our fabrics available online. Thanks so much to Laura Brooks and Nancy Nall for helping us get samples done and our website in order. We now have our website for the retreat center “live.” We are in the process of adding more information but I do hope you enjoy the pictures. www.quiltagiousquarters.com Enjoy the cooler weather. Two new BOMs from Quilt Market

We had a wonderful time at Quilt Market. We restocked our needle nannies which were a BIG hit from Spring Market(shown in that market post). We purchased new dies for the accuquilt Go! systems. We bought the digital cutter system—Slice which is to arrive soon. We look forward to playing with it. We restocked our product from Block Party Studios. They have some fun printed panels and labels. We signed up and ordered some of the laser cut kits which you have probably seen in the Keepsake Quilting catalog. This company laser cuts the time intensive applique projects by McKenna Ryan (and many more designers). Her new botanical pattern is very beautiful. We are taking pre-orders for that one. Quilting Treasures has several new fabric lines that we loved and look forward to receiving in the months ahead. You might check out their website to get a sneak peek. Today we received a new fabric line by Riley Blake called Mod Tod. Laura already has the project well on it’s way. We have two new Block of the Month projects that you will be able to purchase complete or monthly. Pictured below. The very adorable applique project, “Raining Cats and Dogs” is designed by Anne Sutton of Bunny Hill Designs using Moda fabrics. You can start that one now or the first of the year. We are very excited to finally have made the plunge into Stone Henge fabric by Northcott. This neutral block of the month uses the VERY popular Ramblin’ Rose pattern set by Marti Michell. Fabrics should arrive in Feb. 2012. Sign up and reserve your spot!

Make sure to keep an eye on our retreats and classes. Beautiful blocks are forming at Quiltagious Quarters!

We just finished up our weekend retreat with Pearl Pereira of P3 Designs. Pearl, Alice, and 21 of their ‘new friends’ spent Friday through Sunday working on projects and having a great time. Our weekday retreat started this morning with another 21 new friends. Pearl designed an exclusive block for these retreats, and it fits wonderfully with the Baltimore Liberty Series. Thank you Pearl and Alice for spending some of your precious time and wisdom with us!

WOW! Thanks very much to those of you traveling across Texas. Quilt Across Texas (QAT) is going full steam ahead. Several of you have called asking about our project so here is a picture. I am adding it into our quilt kit section of the website tonight. If you are trying to decide which regions to complete…Region 4 is THE BEST!!! Upcoming July 4th weekend-We’re catching our breath!

We’ll be closed this Saturday July 2nd for the holiday weekend. Both Quilt Mercantile and Quiltagious Quarters will be closed during this timeframe. We’ll re-open on July 5th and have our first Sit-N-Sew for July on Tuesday the 5th.

We’ve been doing a ton of work to Quiltagious Quarters and we’ll have some new pictures up shortly. The Summer newsletter for Quilt Mercantile is finished and will be sent out by next week at the latest. Our new website for Quiltagious Quarters is in the ‘creative’ phase and we should have it done in the very near future.

Spring Quilt Market in Salt Lake City, Utah

What a great time we had at Spring Quilt Market. This is the very first time Mom and I have traveled to Spring market. Salt Lake is a very beautiful place. We met many great vendors that usually don’t make the trip to Houston for Fall market so that was very nice and informative. Here are just a few great things we found: pilot’s new pen for marking that Alice Wilhoit told us to look for and bring home if at all possible (we grabbed a whole display), magnetic needle nanny which has several styles and is a really cool product, sulky’s new product that is wonderful for photo copying your embroidery designs to eliminate all that time spent tracing, new scents and a couple new products by Best Press are on order and will arrive soon, Sue Pelland’s ruler set for making lots of leaves or ribbon borders quickly is just awesome (we spoke to her quite a bit and are planning to have her come give a retreat), and of course lots and lots of great fabric finds. I would probably go on way to long if I listed all the wonderful things that caught our eyes.

Needle Nannies display at quilt market

Several new fabric lines have arrived in our store. Finding the time to get pictures taken, edited, and posted on our website is becoming harder. The new Nancy Halvorsen Christmas and the Whimsical Christmas fabrics are so wonderful. We now have several bolts of the super heroes. I will send out an e-mail with more details so make sure your information is on file in our store!

We were very excited to bring our “Fresh Air” quilt back home to Texas. Quilt Sampler magazine has had it since November! There was a fun presentation given for all of the Top Ten shops. It was nice to meet some of the other store owners and see all of the projects in person. We appreciate so much the wonderful response we have had to our project in the Spring issue of Quilt Sampler. We are cutting kits and trying our best to keep up. If you see something on one of the pages in our article that you are wanting, make sure to check our quilt kit section under shopping, e-mail, or call to see if we still have some in stock. We are doing our best to stay caught up with orders. That being said….I better get some rest.

Little Red Barns block of the month preview

What a beautiful spring day! I am excited to post this picture of the new block of the month BOM) by The Quilt Company. I love it! Arlene and Melissa have outdone themselves again. Take a look on our web store for pricing, etc. Let me know if you would like to be included in this BOM through our store. For those online, we always package a complete set to help save on postage.

Vickey and I are headed to Spring Quilt Market next Thursday May 12th late afternoon. Please be advised our store is CLOSED May 13th-16th so we will process any online orders upon our return. We are excited to see all of the new products at market. I am going to market to find some awesome national teachers to come run retreats in 2012. I plan to see the designer of the ”skillbuilders” panel right off the bat. The machine quilting retreat is May 20th-22nd and Jackie plans to use these great products to help participants gain confidence in their custom quilting abilities! If you have some type of sit-down quilting unit that is portable (like the Handi-Quilter sit-down) or you want to learn how to use your home sewing machine to finish your ever growing stack of quilt tops—this is a great opportunity. Click on the schoolhouse on our home page and you will see a listing of all our upcoming retreats. We will soon have some pictures posted of Quiltagious Quarters.
